The LaFoto Editorial Team

The LaFoto Editorial Team writes the guides and comparisons you'll find across this site, with a commitment to sourced facts and plain-language honesty about AI photo (and image) generation.

What we write about

The editorial team publishes LaFoto's guides, comparisons, and how-tos on AI photo generation — from how text-to-image actually works to choosing a tool, writing better prompts, and using AI imagery responsibly.

Our goal is simple: be the resource we wished existed when we started — clear, honest, and genuinely useful whether or not you ever use LaFoto.

Our standards

We source and date every competitor fact, and we link to where we found it. We do not invent statistics, prices, benchmarks, or testimonials. When something cannot be verified, we mark it as reported or leave it out.

On comparison pages, we recommend the tool that genuinely fits a reader best — including when that is not LaFoto. Where we describe LaFoto itself, we use plain language about what it is designed to do, because it is still pre-launch.

Individual contributors are introduced by name as we approach launch. We do not publish invented author biographies.

How LaFoto tests and reviews AI image tools

Who writes and reviews LaFoto content?
A small editorial team working on AI imaging tools rather than a content agency. Guides are written by whoever ran the tests, and comparison pages are reviewed against vendor documentation before publication.
How are the AI image generators tested?
On the same prompt set across tools, at each tool's default settings, with results judged on whether they solve the stated job rather than on which looks prettiest. Where a claim comes from vendor documentation instead of testing, it is attributed as reported.
How often is the content updated?
Comparison and pricing pages are revisited when a vendor changes something material — a price, a licence, a model. Every page carries a reviewed date, and that date is only moved when something was genuinely re-checked.
Does LaFoto publish sponsored reviews?
No. No vendor pays for placement or for a rating on this site, and there are no affiliate links in the comparison tables. Where LaFoto itself appears alongside competitors it is labelled as our own product.
How do you handle being both a reviewer and a vendor?
By declaring it every time and by not claiming a track record LaFoto has not earned. On roundups, LaFoto is described in terms of design intent rather than measured performance, and where a shipping tool is the safer choice today we say so.
How can I report an error?
Use the contact route on the about page with the URL and the specific claim. Factual corrections are made directly on the page, and pricing corrections usually turn out to be a vendor change we have not yet caught.

How this content is made

Testing tools we also compete with

LaFoto appears in its own comparison tables, which is a conflict of interest that cannot be removed — only declared and managed. The way we manage it is to describe LaFoto in terms of design intent rather than measured performance, and to say plainly where a shipping competitor is the better choice today.

No vendor pays for placement here and there are no affiliate links in the tables. Where a figure comes from vendor documentation rather than our own testing, it is attributed as reported.

What we publish

Three kinds of page, three standards

Head-to-head pages

Built from vendor documentation plus the same prompt set across tools. Every price carries the date it was checked, and the LaFoto column states intent rather than performance.

  • Same prompts, default settings, per tool.
  • Prices dated and marked as reported.
  • Our own product declared in every table.

Editorial questions

How we handle the hard cases

The judgement calls behind the standards.

When a vendor disputes something

If they are right, the page changes and the correction is visible. If it is a difference of interpretation, both positions get stated.

When a claim cannot be verified

It is attributed to the vendor as reported rather than asserted as fact — which is why "reported" appears throughout the pricing tables.

When our own product would look bad

It gets said. LaFoto being pre-launch is a genuine disadvantage against shipping tools and the comparison pages state it directly.

How often pages are re-checked

When a vendor changes price, licence or model — which in this category is several times a year rather than annually.

What the reviewed date means

That something was genuinely re-checked on that date. It is not moved to look fresh.
